EARTH

Earth was the first to take form — fittingly, the foundation upon which the Elementa series was built. She grew from my desire to root the monumental in the living. At her centre is a vessel repurposed from VANTA’s signature decorative bowl, reimagined as a sacred basket for trailing plants like Devil’s Ivy. As they climb and weave their way through the steel, they transform the sculpture into a living organism — part object, part ecosystem.

Designing Earth demanded more than aesthetic precision; it required considering how organic growth interacts with engineered form. Every negative space, every curve was refined to accommodate and guide the plants’ natural movement. Earth embodies groundedness, resilience, and regeneration — a reminder that even steel is enriched by what takes root within it.
